Odds Converter

Bookmakers in Malaysia quote odds in three ways: decimal (2.50), fractional (6/4) and American (+150). They all describe the same price. Type a value in any box and the converter fills in the other formats and the implied probability — the chance the bookmaker is pricing in.
How to use it
- Enter the odds in the format you have.
- Read the same price in the other two formats.
- Check the implied probability: if you believe the real chance is higher, the bet has value.
The maths
Fractional a/b → decimal = 1 + a/b. American +A → decimal = 1 + A/100; American −A → decimal = 1 + 100/A. Implied probability = 1 / decimal.
Example: 6/4 = 2.50 = +150 = 40% implied probability.
Good to know
- Decimal odds include your stake; fractional and American show profit only.
- Implied probabilities across all outcomes of a market add up to more than 100% — the excess is the bookmaker's margin.
Accumulator Calculator
Change any field — the rest convert instantly.
An accumulator (acca, parlay or combo) links several selections into one bet. Every leg must win. The odds multiply, so the payout grows fast — and so does the chance of losing. This calculator shows the combined price, the total return and the profit for your stake.
How to use it
- Add a leg for each selection and enter its decimal odds.
- Enter your stake.
- Read the combined odds, return and profit.
The maths
Combined odds = odds₁ × odds₂ × … × oddsₙ. Return = stake × combined odds. Profit = return − stake.
Example: three legs at 1.80, 2.10 and 1.60 → 6.05 combined; RM 20 returns RM 120.96, profit RM 100.96.
Good to know
- Each extra leg multiplies the bookmaker's margin too: five legs at a 5% margin cost you about 23% of fair value.
- Many Malaysian bookmakers add an acca bonus (5–30%) from three legs up — check the promotion page before you place it.
Asian Handicap Calculator
Change any field — the rest convert instantly.
Asian handicap gives the underdog a head start in goals and removes the draw. Quarter lines (−0.25, +0.75) split your stake across two lines, which is where most confusion starts. Enter the line, the odds, your stake and the final score and the calculator settles the bet exactly as a bookmaker would.
How to use it
- Choose the handicap line for the team you back.
- Enter the odds and the stake.
- Type the final score to see the outcome and return.
The maths
Add the handicap to your team's goals. Ahead → win; level → push (stake refunded); behind → loss. A quarter line is half the stake on each neighbouring line, so −0.25 at 1.95 is half at 0 and half at −0.5.
Example: RM 100 on −0.25 at 1.95, match drawn 1–1: the 0 half pushes (RM 50 back), the −0.5 half loses. Return RM 50, loss RM 50 — a half-loss.
Good to know
- Whole lines can push; half lines never do.
- Our Asian handicap guide walks through every line with examples.
Surebet (Arbitrage) Calculator
Change any field — the rest convert instantly.
A surebet (arbitrage) exists when the best odds on every outcome, taken from different bookmakers, add up to less than 100% implied probability. Stake the right amount on each and you profit whatever happens. The calculator tells you whether an arb exists, how to split the bankroll and what you lock in.
How to use it
- Enter the best odds for each outcome — usually from different bookmakers.
- Enter the total bankroll you want to place.
- Read the stake per outcome and the guaranteed return.
The maths
Market total = Σ 1/oddsᵢ. Below 100% is an arb. Stakeᵢ = bankroll × (1/oddsᵢ) / market total; return = bankroll / market total.
Example: home 2.10 at one bookmaker, away 2.05 at another: 47.6% + 48.8% = 96.4%. RM 1,000 split RM 494 / RM 506 returns RM 1,037 either way — RM 37 profit.
Good to know
- Arbs are usually 1–4% and disappear within minutes; odds move while you place the second leg.
- Bookmakers limit accounts that only take arbs — mix in ordinary bets.
Matched Bet Calculator
Change any field — the rest convert instantly.
Matched betting backs an outcome at a bookmaker and lays the same outcome on an exchange so the result no longer matters. Used on a qualifying bet it costs a few ringgit; used on a free bet it turns most of the free bet into cash. The only number you need to get right is the lay stake — this calculator gives it to you.
How to use it
- Choose the bet type: qualifying, free bet with stake not returned (the usual kind), or stake returned.
- Enter the back stake, the back odds, the exchange lay odds and the commission.
- Read the lay stake, the liability and the profit on either outcome.
The maths
Qualifying: lay = stake × back odds / (lay odds − commission). Free bet SNR: lay = stake × (back odds − 1) / (lay odds − commission). Liability = lay × (lay odds − 1).
Example: RM 50 free bet (SNR) at 5.00, lay at 5.20 with 5% commission: lay RM 38.83, liability RM 163.11, profit ≈ RM 36.89 either way — 74% of the free bet extracted.
Good to know
- Pick high odds for free bets (more value extracted) and close back/lay odds for qualifying bets (smaller loss).
- Make sure the exchange has enough money at your lay price before placing the back bet.
Free Bet Calculator
Change any field — the rest convert instantly.
Most free bets in Malaysia are "stake not returned": win and you keep the profit, not the free stake. Backing at high odds and laying on an exchange turns 70–80% of the free bet into cash with no risk. This calculator opens in free-bet mode with the lay stake and profit ready.
How to use it
- Enter the free bet amount as the stake.
- Enter the bookmaker's odds and the exchange's lay odds and commission.
- Read the lay stake, the liability to cover, and the profit on either result.
The maths
Lay = free bet × (back odds − 1) / (lay odds − commission). Profit if the bookmaker bet wins = free bet × (back odds − 1) − liability; if it loses = lay × (1 − commission). The two are equal by construction.
Example: RM 100 free bet at 6.00, lay 6.20 at 5%: lay RM 81.30, liability RM 422.76, profit RM 77.24.
Good to know
- Value extracted rises with the odds but so does the liability you must hold on the exchange.
- Check the free bet's minimum odds and expiry in the terms first.
Lay Bet Calculator
Change any field — the rest convert instantly.
On a betting exchange you can be the bookmaker: laying a selection means you win the backer's stake if it loses and pay out at the odds if it wins. The amount you can lose — the liability — is often far larger than the stake, which catches newcomers out. This calculator shows exactly what you risk and what you keep after commission.
How to use it
- Enter the lay stake (the backer's stake you accept).
- Enter the lay odds and the exchange commission.
- Read the liability, the profit if the selection loses and the implied probability.
The maths
Liability = stake × (lay odds − 1). Profit if the selection loses = stake × (1 − commission). Implied probability = 1 / lay odds.
Example: lay RM 100 at 4.00 with 5% commission: liability RM 300, profit RM 95 if it loses.
Good to know
- Laying a short-priced favourite risks little; laying an outsider at 20.00 risks 19× your stake.
- The exchange holds your liability until the market settles.
Hedge Bet Calculator
Change any field — the rest convert instantly.
Your original bet
You backed a team at 4.00 before the season; now they are 1.50 to win the title. Hedging means betting the other way — or laying on an exchange — so you collect whatever happens. The calculator gives the exact hedge stake and the profit you lock in.
How to use it
- Enter your original stake and odds.
- Choose how you hedge: back the opposite outcome at a bookmaker, or lay the same outcome on an exchange (with commission).
- Enter the current odds and read the hedge stake and the guaranteed profit.
The maths
Back the other side: hedge stake = stake × original odds / hedge odds; guaranteed profit = stake × (original odds − 1) − hedge stake. Lay: lay stake = stake × original odds / (lay odds − commission).
Example: RM 100 at 4.00, other side now 1.50: hedge RM 266.67, profit RM 33.33 either way.
Good to know
- Hedging costs expected value; it buys certainty. Partial hedges (half the calculated stake) keep some upside.
- In a three-way market you need to cover both other outcomes — use the dutching calculator.
Dutching Calculator
Change any field — the rest convert instantly.
| Selection | Odds | Stake | Return if it wins |
|---|
These odds guarantee a loss — total implied probability is over 100%.
Dutching spreads a total stake across several selections in one market — three horses, two correct scores, both teams in a cup tie — so the return is identical whichever one wins. The calculator does the split and warns you when the combined odds cannot make money.
How to use it
- Add a row for each selection with its odds.
- Enter the total stake.
- Read the stake per selection, the equal return and the book percentage.
The maths
Book % = Σ 1/oddsᵢ. Stakeᵢ = total × (1/oddsᵢ) / book. Return = total / book. Profit = return − total, positive only when the book is under 100%.
Example: three horses at 3.00, 4.00 and 6.00 (book 75%): RM 100 splits RM 44.44 / RM 33.33 / RM 22.22 and returns RM 133.33 — RM 33.33 profit if any of the three wins.
Good to know
- Dutching does not create value; it only shapes the payout. The book must be under 100% to profit.
- Works across bookmakers too — take the best odds on each selection.
Kelly Criterion Calculator
Change any field — the rest convert instantly.
No value — Kelly says don't bet
The Kelly criterion tells you what fraction of your bankroll to stake so that it grows fastest in the long run without going bust. It needs one honest input: your own estimate of the chance of winning. If that estimate beats the bookmaker's implied probability you have an edge; Kelly turns the edge into a stake.
How to use it
- Enter your bankroll and the odds.
- Enter the probability you believe the bet has of winning.
- Pick full, half or quarter Kelly — most professionals use half or less — and read the stake.
The maths
With b = decimal odds − 1, p = your probability and q = 1 − p: Kelly fraction f = (b × p − q) / b. Edge = p × decimal odds − 1. If f ≤ 0 there is no value: don't bet.
Example: odds 2.50, probability 45%: f = (1.5 × 0.45 − 0.55) / 1.5 = 8.3%. On RM 1,000 that is RM 83 full Kelly, RM 42 half Kelly.
Good to know
- Full Kelly swings hard; overestimating your probability by a few points makes it over-bet. Fractional Kelly is the practical choice.
- Kelly assumes you can repeat the bet many times — it is a bankroll strategy, not a one-off tip.

A Patent is a full-cover bet on 3 selections: 3 singles, 3 doubles and 1 treble, 7 bets in all. Because every combination is a separate bet, you can lose one or two selections and still collect. Enter the odds and mark each selection won, lost or void and the calculator returns every line.
How to use it
- Enter the stake per bet — a RM 1 Patent costs RM 7.
- Enter the odds for each of the 3 selections.
- Set each result to won, lost or void and read the breakdown, total return and profit.
The maths
The bet covers singles, doubles and the treble. Each combination pays stake × the product of its winning odds; a void selection counts as odds 1.00, a lost one voids every combination it is in. Total outlay = stake × 7.
Example: RM 1 Patent on 2.00, 3.00 and 4.00, all winning: singles RM 9, doubles RM 26, treble RM 24 — RM 59 back for RM 7 staked.
Good to know
- Full-cover bets suit selections you are confident in but not certain of — the more that win, the faster the payout climbs.
- The bookmaker's margin is baked into every line; compare with a straight accumulator using our accumulator calculator.
