In Group 8, things seem settled, with the Netherlands taking the direct qualification and Poland heading to the playoffs as second. It’s hard to see that changing.
Poland have changed coaches, morale is high, and they will play for a result against a team that has often “hurt” them. The Netherlands are secure in first place, and as usual, I expect them to play offensively.
I foresee an open match — Lewandowski returns for the hosts, and the first encounter in the Netherlands ended 1-1. With minimal tactical caution, this game could easily become very entertaining.
The tradition clearly favors the “Oranje,” who have scored two goals in all their recent visits to Poland, while three of the last four matches between the two sides there ended with both teams scoring and over 2.5 goals.
